After updating to Corel Photo Album 6, and when starting Corel Photo Album 6, the Windows Installer runs and asks for cpa6.msi (the Source). When installing an update patch, the Corel Photo Album 6 program installation is checked for integrity. The installer will run and repair any missing program components if the integrity check fails. An error message stating, "Error 1706 No valid source could be found for Corel Photo Album 6" will be displayed if cpa6.msi cannot be found or isn't the correct version.
Resolve this problem by using the Browse button in the Windows Installer error to direct the Installer to the folder containing the cpa6.msi file.
Customers, who have installed from CD, will need to insert the Corel Photo Album 6 CD into their CD-ROM drive and browse to the Corel Photo Album 6 folder.
Customers who have installed from a downloaded installation file will need to browse to the folder where the Corel Photo Album 6 installation files were extracted to. By default, the Corel Photo Album 6 installation files are extracted to the following location.
C:\Program Files\Corel\ Corel Photo Album 6Installation Files
After youve selected the folder containing the cpa6.msi file, click the Ok button in the error message. The installer should continue to run and then disappear at which point Corel Photo Album 6 should start.
