Preview Window Panel Blank In PaintShop Pro Manage Mode

 


Issue

The Preview window appears blank even though an image is selected in the Organizer Panel.


Explanation

There is currently no explanation as to why this is occurring on some systems while others not.


Resolution

To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:


  1. Make sure that PaintShop Pro is closed
  2. Locate the PaintShop Pro icon on the Desktop*
  3. Right-click on the Desktop icon and select Properties from the menu
  4. Click on the Compatibility tab
  5. Add a check mark to the Disable desktop composition option
  6. Click the Apply button
  7. Click the OK button



*Alternatively, If there is no icon for PaintShop Pro on the Desktop, please locate it in one of these other areas:

Start Panel

 

  1. Click the START button
  2. Click on All Programs
  3. Click on the Corel PaintShop Pro folder (X4, X5, X6)
  4. Right-click on Corel PaintShop Pro and select Properties from the menu
  5. Click on the Compatibility tab
  6. Add a check mark to the Disable desktop composition option
  7. Click the Apply button
  8. Click the OK button


Program Files

For any 32 bit version of PaintShop Pro (versions X6 and lower), the PaintShop Pro application or executable file is located in this folder:

For X4: C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X4
For X5: C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X5
For X6: C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X6


For the PaintShop Pro X6 (64bit) application or executable file is located in this folder:

C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X6 (64-bit)


  1. Right-click on Corel PaintShop Pro (Corel PaintShop Pro.exe) and select Properties from the menu
  2. Click on the Compatibility tab
  3. Add a check mark to the Disable desktop composition option
  4. Click the Apply button
  5. Click the OK button
