How do I use the Clone Brush?

If you have ever wanted to clean up images by hiding certain blemishes or if you want to get silly and creative by copying an object to another part of your digital image, then the Clone Brush is just the tool you were looking for.

The Clone Brush is used to copy part of an image from one location to another. It can also be used to hide certain faults or blemishes on an image. To access the clone brush, just click on the icon that looks like this  which can be found on the tool bar at the left hand side of the workspace.

To use the Clone Brush right click on the part of the image you want to copy.

By right clicking in the selected area, you will produce a circle with a set of cross hairs, as shown in the next image.

Then paint in the area you want to cover up by holding down the left mouse button.

Until you have successfully copied the part of the image you have selected.
