How to manually reset Corel® VideoStudio Pro X6 to Default Settings



Resetting VideoStudio Pro X6 to default settings requires renaming or removing a specific folder under the User Profile. This process resets the program library, so re-importing your videos, images or music files may be necessary afterwards.


To save the VideoStudio library:

 

  • Click Settings
  • Click Library Manager
  • Click Export Library...
  • Select a destination folder or create one
  • Click the OK button


To Import the VideoStudio Library

  • Click Settings
  • Click Library Manager
  • Click Import Library...
  • Select the destination folder that holds the exported library information
  • Click the OK button


Before performing this procedure, please ensure that Corel® VideoStudio Pro X6 is not running.

 

On Windows 8 :

1. On the keyboard, launch the Run box by pressing the Windows button then the letter R (Windows + R)

2. In the Open box, type %APPDATA% and press the enter key.

3. In the new window, find the Ulead Systems folder.

4. Open the Ulead Systems folder.

5. Open the Corel VideoStudio Pro folder.

6. There should be a folder named 16.0 here.

7. Rename 16.0 to 16.0_old.


On Windows Vista / 7 :

1. Click on Start.

2. Click in the search box at the bottom of the Start menu.

3. Type in: %APPDATA% and press the enter key.

4. In the new window, find the Ulead Systems folder.

5. Open the Ulead Systems folder.

6. Open the Corel VideoStudio Pro folder.

7. There should be a folder named 16.0 here.

8. Rename 16.0 to 16.0_old.

9. Launch VideoStudio Pro X6.


On Windows XP:

1. Click on Start.

2. Select Run.

3. Type in %APPDATA% and click the OK button.

4. In the new window, find the Ulead Systems folder.

5. Open the Ulead Systems folder.

6. Open the Corel VideoStudio Pro folder.

7. There should be a folder named 16.0 here.

8. Rename 16.0 to 16.0_old.

9. Launch VideoStudio Pro X6

 

Once the folder has been renamed, VideoStudio Pro X6 will now reset to its factory default settings when the program is launched.
