When you open a template as a document in WordPerfect, the template is not modified after you save the file.
You can, however, modify the template itself, but you should do so with care. Any changes you make to the template will remain in effect once the file is saved.
It's important to note, however, that the changes will only affect new documents that use the template after it is modified.
To modify a Template, please follow these steps:
(1)Select "File" and "New from Project" from the menu. You are directed to the "Create New" tab in the "PerfectExpert" dialog box.
(2)Select a category from the drop-down menu and select the template you want to edit. Click the "Options" button and "Edit WP Template."
(3)Highlight any information you want to change and press the "Delete" key to remove it. Place the insertion point where you'd like to add new text and type it in. Select any text you want to format and pick a formatting option from the toolbar.
(4)Place your cursor where you'd like to add a table or image. To insert a table, click "Table" and "Create" from the menu. The "Create Table" dialog box opens. Enter the number of columns and rows you want and click "OK." To insert an image, click "Insert," "Graphics/Pictures" and "From File." Find and double-click the image you want to insert from the "Insert Image" dialog box.
(5)Select "File" and "Save As" to open the "Save Template" dialog box. Type in the name of the template that you opened previously. The template's name displays in the title bar at the top of your page (in the background). Select the category from which you retrieved the template and click "OK." Click "Yes" to replace the file.
