Getting the “File Format not supported" error when importing .MOV file on VideoStudio

If you installed QuickTime 7.7, you may get the “File Format not supported" error because of the QuickTime SDK problem. To fix this, you will need to make sure that the file name is ONLY alpha-numeric format then restore Quicktime from the Install Utilities from the VideoStudio Disc installer.


Renaming the file
1. Click the file once to high-light it then press F2 on your keyboard or right-click then select RENAME.
2. Remove any none alpha-numeric character or just rename it using ONLY Alpha-Numeric.

Restoring QuickTime from the Install Utilities from the VideoStudio Disc installer.
1. On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
2. Follow the steps appropriate for your Windows operating system below.

Windows XP and Windows 2000:
Open the Add or Remove Programs control panel and select QuickTime in the list of currently installed programs.

Windows Vista and Windows 7:
Click Uninstall a program (or if using Windows Vista's Classic View of the Control Panel, click Programs and Features) and select QuickTime in the list of currently installed programs.

3. Click the Remove button (or Uninstall for Windows Vista and Windows 7) and follow the prompts to remove QuickTime from your computer.
4. After restarting the computer, just insert the VideoStudio disc installer and let the AUTORUN application to start.


5. Once you’re on the main screen, click Apple QuickTime, then just follow the steps that will appear on the screen.


6. Just click the button to confirm the completion of the installation and you can immediately use VideoStudio.
