If you are using Windows Vista, make sure you have all of the latest Windows Vista updates. If you have all of the latest updates or are using Windows 7 and are still seeing this error during installation try the following steps to resolve the problem:
- Browse the Avid Studio Installation disc
- Right-click on Welcome.exe and select Troubleshoot Compatibility
- It will go through a quick diagnostic and present you with some options.
- Select Try recommended settings. This will apply some compatibility settings.
- Click Start the program. Installation should begin.
