Corel Painter 12 2 supports two ways of working with gestures on Wacom Touch devices Wacom Mode Multi Touch Disabled and Painter Mode Multi Touch Enabled

Corel Painter 12.2 supports two ways of working with gestures on Wacom Touch devices - Wacom Mode (Multi-Touch Disabled) and Painter Mode (Multi-Touch Enabled).

If you disable Multi-Touch (Wacom Mode):

The custom settings that you set in the Wacom Tablet Properties will function normally in Corel Painter.

When operating the stylus, the canvas should not detect a hand resting on the Intuos 5 touch surface.

It is important to note some of the issues you may experience when Multi-Touch is disabled:

Pan, Zoom, and Rotate may respond slowly and operate less smoothly overall

Rotate and Zoom will always be set to the center of the canvas

Pan, Zoom, and Rotate cannot be performed simultaneously

If you enable Multi-Touch (Painter Mode):

Pan, Zoom, and Rotate will respond faster and smoother

The origin of Rotate and Zoom will be set to the location that you grab on the canvas

Pan, Zoom, and Rotate can be performed simultaneously

It is important to note some of the issues you may experience when Multi-Touch is enabled:

The custom settings that you set in the Wacom Tablet Properties for 3, 4 and 5-finger touch will not work in Corel Painter.

When operating the stylus, the canvas may occasionally detect a hand resting on the Intuos 5 touch surface.

When using the stylus, some clicking actions may produce unintended results. For example, the color picker may not sample the intended color.

In Corel Painter 12 Update 2, Multi-Touch is enabled by default. You can, however, disable the Multi-Touch option:

1. In Painter 12, do one of the following:

(Windows) Choose Edit menu > Preferences > General.

(Mac) Choose Preferences menu >General.

2. Disable the Enable Multi-Touch (compatible Wacom Device required) check box.

We invite you to experiment with both options to decide which one works better in your workflow.
