New Color Management Preset Added in Core CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 after installing Service Pack 1

New colour management preset added in CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 in SP1 - Simulate CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4

Solution: A new colour management preset was added to the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 in SP1, it is called "Simulate CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4". It will setup the same CM settings and color profiles (the CMYK SWOP profile is not the Kodak one from X4 for legal reasons, but it is functionally the same) that were used in X4. The one thing this preset does not change is proofing settings. So in order to match X4's out of the box settings you will need to go to the Color Proofing docker, select the SWOP Proofer CMYK - Coated profile and turn proofing on. Also note that if X4 settings are not set to default it will not match. One final thing to consider is if there is a custom monitor profile setup in the OS Advanced Display settings (via control panel). By default X5 will pick up this monitor profile and use it to compensate colors for the monitor, but X4 will not. So you can either set the monitor profile in X4 CM settings to this profile (ideal). Or just remove it from the Advanced display settings in the OS (both X4 and X5 will just use sRGB for display).

It was added to the slipstream builds, however, there is a way to get the option to appear in patched builds. In order to see the preset after patching you will need to either delete or rename (if you want to keep a copy of user's existing CM settings) the ColorSettings.xml file located here (user files located in different spot on XP):

C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5\Color\Settings

Upon re-launch of the application the ColorSettings.xml file will be re-generated from the factory default ColorSettings.xml file and the preset will be available. Simply resetting the workspace does NOT reset the CM settings to factory default (only resets workspace).
