Manually Removing DESIGNER Technical Suite X4 from Systems Running Windows Vista or XP

This document outlines how to manually remove Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite X4 from systems running WindowsVista or XP

To safely remove Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite X4 without using the uninstaller, follow the steps listed below.

Remove Corel Designer Technical Suite X4 by going to the Control Panel in Windows.

1a. (For Windows XP)

Go to Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
Select Corel Designer Technical Suite X4 from the list of programs and click on "Uninstall".

1b. (For Windows Vista)
Go to Start | Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features
Select Corel Designer Technical Suite X4 from the list of programs and click on "Uninstall".

 

3. Manually delete "Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite X4 " program folders from the hard drive.

  1. Click Start | Run | type Explorer and click OK.
  2. Browse to X:\Program Files\Corel (Xrepresents the drive where "Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite X4" had been installed).
  3. Highlight and delete the "Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite X4" folder.

4a. (For Windows Vista): Manually delete the Corel User data directories.

  • Click Start | All Programs | Accessories | Run | type %appdata% and click OK.
  • Browse to the Corel folder.
  • Highlight and delete the "Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite X4"folder.

4b. (For Windows XP): Manually delete the Corel User data directories.

  • Click Start |Run | type %appdata% and click OK.
  • Browse to the Corel folder.
  • Highlight and delete the "Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite X4"folder.

5a. (For Windows Vista):

  • Click Start | All Programs | Accessories | Run | type %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\corel\ and click OK.
  • Highlight and delete the "Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite X4"folder.


5b. (For Windows XP):

  • Click Start |Run | type %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\application data\corel\ and click OK.
  • Highlight and delete the "Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite X4"folder.

6. : Remove DESIGNER X4 registry keys from the Windows Registry.

WARNING:Editing the Windows Registry is NOT recommended for those unfamiliar with registry editing. Be sure to backup the registry prior to making any changes.

  • (Windows Vista) Click Start | All Programs | Accessories | Run | typeRegedit and click OK.
  • (Windows XP) Click Start |Run | typeRegedit and click OK.
  • Delete the following keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\COREL\\Corel DESIGNER\\14.0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Corel\\CorelSearch\\CDTSX4
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Corel\\Setup\\Corel DESIGNER Technical Suite 14

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Corel\\Corel DESIGNER\\14.0

 

7. Please make sure you restart the system , so that the changestake effect.
