Blue Screen or System Reboot When Adding Movies To MyDVD

This issue can be resolved by installing updates for your ATI video card followed by installing the latest release of Microsoft DirectX.

Users who already have the latest version of DirectX and are experiencing this issue will still need to following the steps below and reinstall DirectX.

Update Your Video Driver

 

  1. Go to http://www.ati.com and click on "Drivers and Software".
  2. Follow the on screen instructions to locate and download the most recent driver for your ATI video card.
  3. Once the download has been completed, locate and run the driver installation.
  4. After installation you will need to reboot your computer.


Update Microsoft DirectX

 

  1. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx and click on "Get the Latest DirectX Here".
  2. Follow the on screen instructions to download the latest DirectX End-User Runtime.
  3. Once the download has been completed, locate and run the DirectX installation.
  4. After installation you will need to reboot your computer.


You should now be able to add your video files to MyDVD without further issue.
