Temp file gains in size after starting Avid Studio

In some rare cases the Temp folder located at the following location can unexpectedly grow in size after launching Avid Studio.

C:/users/username/AppData/Local/TEMP

This is likely due to content provided with Premium Pack 1 and 2. If this happens, there are a couple of possible workarounds available. We recommend starting with Method #1 as it will be easier and faster than Method #2. If Method #1 works, there is no need to do Method #2.

Method #1: Remove Read-Only status on the Content folder

1. Browse to: C:\users\username\AppData\Local\TEMP. Delete the contents of this folder.

2. Browse to: C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Pinnacle\.

3. Locate the Content folder within the Pinnacle Folder.

4. Right-click on Content and select Properties.

5. In the General tab, uncheck the Read-only checkbox so that it is blank. Click Apply.

6. A Confirm Attribute Changes window will appear. Make sure that Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files is selected. Click OK.

Try starting Avid Studio and see if the problem persists. If it does, proceed to Method #2.

Method #2: Delete .wav files

1. Browse to: C:\users\username\AppData\Local\TEMP. Delete the contents of this folder.

2. Browse to: C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Pinnacle\Content\.

3. Make a zipped copy of the complete folder at this location called "Sound Effects" (this is only in case a mistake is made and the files need to be later restored).

4. Browse to: C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Pinnacle\Content\Sound Effects

5. You will notice several folders beginning with UFX

6. Inside each of these folders will be files ending with the .wav extension - we need to delete all of these files. Do NOT delete the .mp3 versions of the files.

7. Do this for each UFX folder.

After this is complete the Temp file should no longer have this problem.
