How to install and use Extra Content in Painter 11

Painter 11 - Loading Extra content

Brushes

The Extra brushes included on the Painter 11 installation disc need to be copied manually to the brushes directory in Painter 11

Installing On Mac OS X

  1. Insert the Painter 11 installation CD
  2. Browse to the Corel Painter 11 disc using the Finder
  3. Open the Extras folder
  4. Open the Brushes folder
  5. Copy the desired brushes to

/ Applications / Corel Painter 11 / Brushes

  1. Alternatively, you can copy them to your user account folder. With this method however the brushes will only be available with the workspace in which they are installed

/ Users / [User Name] / Library / Application Support / Corel / Painter 12 / [Workspace Name] / Brushes

Installing On Windows

  1. Insert the Painter 11 installation CD
  2. Click Explore CD when the autorun program appears
  3. Open the Extras folder
  4. Open the Brushes folder
  5. Copy the desired brushes to the appropriate program files folder

C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Painter 11\Brushes

OR (Only on Windows 64-bit)

C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel Painter 11\Brushes

  1. Alternatively, you can copy them to your user account folder. With this method however the brushes will only be available with the workspace in which they are installed

Windows XP

C:\ Documents and Settings \ [User Name] \ Application Data \ Corel \ Painter 11 \ [Workspace Name] \ Brushes

Windows Vista / 7

C:\Users \ [User Name] \ AppData \ Corel \ Painter 11 \ [Workspace Name] \ Brushes

Loading Brushes in Painter 11

  1. Click the  on the brush palette
  2. ClickLoad Brush Library
  3. Select the library you want to use and clickLoad



Gradients

To load a gradient library

  1. Click the'Gradients Selector Icon'  on theToolbox palette
  2. On the Gradients menu that appears, click the  in the upper right corner of the menu.
  3. ClickOpen Library
  4. Navigate to the Gradientsfolder under the Extrasfolder and choose the desired gradient library

To return to the default library

  1. Click the'Gradients Selector Icon'  on theToolbox palette
  2. On the Gradients menu that appears, click the  in the upper right corner of the menu.
  3. Choose Restore Default Library



Image Host Nozzles

To load a Nozzle Library

  1. Click the'Nozzle Selector Icon'  on theToolbox palette
  2. On the Nozzle menu that appears, click the  in the upper right corner of the menu.
  3. ClickOpen Library
  4. Navigate to the Image Host Nozzlesfolder under the Extrasfolder and choose the desired nozzle library

To return to the default library

  1. Click the'Nozzle Selector Icon'  on theToolbox palette
  2. On the Nozzle menu that appears, click the  in the upper right corner of the menu.
  3. Choose Open Default Library



Paper Textures

To load Paper libraries

  1. Click the'Paper Selector Icon'  on theToolbox palette
  2. On the Papers menu that appears, click the  in the upper right corner of the menu.
  3. ClickOpen Library
  4. ClickLoadif you would like to continue and replace the current paper
  5. Navigate to the Paper Textures folder under the Extrasfolder and choose the desired texture library

To return to the default library

  1. Click the'Paper Selector Icon'  on theToolbox palette
  2. On the Papers menu that appears, click the  in the upper right corner of the menu.
  3. Choose Restore Default Library



Patterns

To load Pattern Libraries

  1. Click the'Pattern Selector Icon'  on theToolbox palette
  2. On the Patterns menu that appears, click the  in the upper right corner of the menu.
  3. ClickOpen Library
  4. Navigate to the Patternsfolder under the Extrasfolder and choose the desired pattern library

To return to the default library

  1. Click the'Pattern Selector Icon'  on theToolbox palette
  2. On the Patterns menu that appears, click the  in the upper right corner of the menu.
  3. Choose Open Default Library



Selections

To load Selection Portfolios

  1. Go to theWindowMenu
  2. Choose Selection Portfolio
  3. On the Selection Portfolio Palette that appears, click the  in the upper right corner of the palette.
  4. ClickOpen Library
  5. Navigate to the Selectionsfolder under the Extrasfolder and choose the desired selection library



Weaves

To load Pattern Libraries

  1. Click the'Pattern Selector Icon'  on theToolbox palette
  2. On the Patterns menu that appears, click the  in the upper right corner of the menu.
  3. ClickOpen Library
  4. Navigate to the Patternsfolder under the Extrasfolder and choose the desired pattern library

To return to the default library

  1. Click the'Pattern Selector Icon'  on theToolbox palette
  2. On the Patterns menu that appears, click the  in the upper right corner of the menu.
  3. Choose Restore Default Library
