The first time you try to open a Roxio PhotoShow slideshow on your web browser, you will see a message similar to the one shown below, and the show will not play.
“To view and create PhotoShows, you will need to install the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player.
Download the Flash Player here.”
Downloading the Flash Player plugin is not going to do any good, as the lack of it is not really what is preventing your shows from playing - most modern web browsers already have the Flash Player plugin built-in, and is updated whenever the browser is updated. Instead, the reason is that Flash Player has fallen out of favor due to its less secure nature, and will always be blocked by your web browser by default.
The good news is you can still enable Flash Player on your web browser for the particular site that holds the content you want to play. At least temporarily. Just follow the simple steps below.
Note: These steps were applied to Google Chrome, but should not be that much different for other web browsers.
1. On the web browser tab where you are attempting to play the show, click on "Not Secure" - this should be just beside the Address (URL) field;
2. A menu with the heading “Your connection to this site is not secure” comes up, where you can select options for how Flash Player will be handled; Note: The default action for handling Flash content is “Block”
3. Click on the drop-down list (down-pointing arrow), then select "Allow";
4. Close the menu. You will see a prompt to "Reload" the page. Please do so by clicking on the Reload button, or hitting F5 on your keyboard.
Your PhotoShow slideshow should now play unhampered in your web browser window. You may need to repeat this same process after exiting your web browser and opening the same or other Flash Player content.
